THE EVENT
The Mediterranean
within a Sustainable Maritime Economy:
an event facing the new challenges
BLUE PLANET ECONOMY 2022, 19-21 OCTOBER, FIERA ROMA
The future of the global marine ecosystem, its resources and a new concept of a sustainable maritime economy is at stake in the Mediterranean area, the place of a thousand challenges during the centuries!
The geo-economic focus of our event, BLUE PLANET ECONOMY is the so called Mediterranean “continent”, made up of the countries bordering the two shores of the “sea in between”. A continent which also extends to other coastal African countries linked to the Mediterranean Sea by long time economic and cultural connections.
The Forum tackles the most current trend-topics of the Blue Economy through the only possible interpretation: innovation and sustainability.
Innovation and growth in the coastal economy sectors, from energy to transport, fish resources, shipbuilding, and leisure marine, these sectors will be the foundation for a secure sustainable development process.
BPE 2022 Business Focus is to identify multiple areas of innovation and potential development of the Maritime Economy and its players, to provide the platform of exchanging for new business projects. This is the main goal of the second edition of BLUE PLANET ECONOMY Expoforum, that will be held in presence at Fiera Roma
after a first digital edition in 2021.

The Horizontal Focus: blue innovation
Integrated across the main categories of the event, BPE 2022 will promote the discussion on horizontal issues such as the creation of innovative projects deeply rooted in the “core” of the Blue Economy. The projects presented in the event will be at the same time showcase and flywheel, a new “melting pot” for new ideas and contributions, with the participation of actors at all levels. Education and training programs aimed at achieving new careers and professions within the Blue Economy will therefore be another fundamental axis of BPE 2022. Special programs, courses and career paths will be presented by public and private institutions, industry and academia.
