Archaeologist, specialized in the study of the southern Levant of the first millennium BCE, with particular reference to the archaeology of religion, and Phoenician and Punic Sardinia.
She directs the Kharayeb Archaeological Project, Lebanon, working on the Phoenician cult place of Kharayeb, the rural site of Jemjim and the port of Tell Qasmiye. Editor in chief of the Rivista di Studi Fenici and professor of Geography and Archeology of the Near East at the Pontificio Istituto Biblico of Rome.
