Since September 2017 he has been Coordinator for Maritime Affairs at the Directorate General for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In 2016-2017 he coordinated the track “Foreign Affairs” on the occasion of the Italian Presidency of the G7

Previously he was Ambassador to Turkmenistan and Deputy Ambassador to Japan.

He has held positions in the Philippines, at the Consulate General in New York and at the Embassy of Italy in Algiers. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he dealt with the Middle East Peace Process and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
